Everybody is naked
A couple nights ago I met two new girls in a dinner setting. One was Asian, the other American, and both had been friends for quite some time. I had barely spoken to either girl previously, but already I had a good idea of the types of people they were. The American commented about China. Immediately, I looked towards her friend. After making her comment, the American also turned towards her friend, asking, “Wait, are you Chinese?” I felt like smashing my palm into my face. How could she not know her friend was Chinese? You only just figured it out? I had only met her an hour or two before, and hardly spoke to her, but already I knew that this girl’s parents were both Chinese while she was born in America. I didn’t have to ask to verify. I could read it. The evidence was all there, sitting right across from me.
On another occasion, I was having lunch with a friend and some of his friends. The topic of conversation changed to incorporate China and Japan, and one of the girls at the table who I had previously never met asked if I thought she was Chinese or Japanese. I replied immediately. She was born in China.
So do you know an individual’s ancestry? Furthermore, how do you know where someone was raised? It’s simple. Just observe. It’s written all over your naked body.
The face contains an incredible amount of information. A Chinese face is very much different to a Japanese face. The shapes are distinct. From an accent you can determine where one has been raised. A lot can be read from the way someone speaks.
When I was in Australia I came across a young American male who was in Australia to study. A few words into the conversation and instantly I knew he was raised on the East side. I couldn’t narrow location any further because I’ve never actually been to the East side, but I’ve been to the West side, and the accents there are completely different.
A close friend of mine once asked me how I knew what her favourite colour was. I didn’t really know how to respond, it’s not like I could just say, “I read it.” So I told her it was just a lucky guess. To me, it was pretty obvious though. Subtle clues were everywhere in the way she dressed. The most obvious being her painted nails.
But I take this reading ability for granted. I’m observant. Most people aren’t. Most people are so caught up in their own lives that they don’t just sit back and observe other people, listen to other people, and really take in what’s happening around them.
Many people consider it a scary thought how someone is able to determine so much about them just from their appearance. Some go on to say that you can’t judge a book by its cover. This of course is complete nonsense. Human beings can be read just as easily as a book can, so long as you understand the human language. Some expert readers are so good that they borderline privacy invasion.
I was once interviewing a friend, and afterwards he commented on the process. He was amazed about how I knew exactly what he was thinking, before the words even reached his mouth. Just from the expressions on his face, the tone of his voice, and the movement of his body, I could get the truth from everything he spoke.
Using this reading ability I’ve been able to roam new places and quickly establish networks of friends by knowing which random people to talk to. You can know how open someone is to conversation or whether they’re going to shut you down and reject you before even beginning your approach. You can also determine how trustworthy an individual is just from observation (though you do have to be careful with this, since many con artists can manipulate their appearance to appear trustworthy.)
I can tell a lot about a person just from sight. Their intellect level, their emotional maturity, how outgoing they are, their fundamental personality type. Many people don’t believe until they see it for themselves. People don’t realise just how naked they are.
You can quite easily tell how active a person’s sex life is just from their appearance, conversations and basic interactions. No matter how hard you try and hide it, the truth is always blatantly obvious. I know what you got up to last night.
Many don’t quite understand how much information they reveal about themselves naturally. But it’s simple evolution. You can come across a rose, and come across a sunflower, and you know immediately, without a second thought, the difference between the two. You know that both have different scents and grow differently – they have different personalities. You judge this purely off appearance – instantly from sight. It’s the same for different breeds of dogs. Many people will know how energetic or playful a dog is, purely based off sight, if they understand the fundamental differences between breeds.
Humans are no different to any other life form. A lot is revealed about our personality from our appearance. It’s how evolution designed life. Bone structure is linked to key personality traits. No matter how unique you think your personality is, you can’t change genetics. Both the inside and the outside are linked via genetics. You can tell what’s in the inside by viewing what’s on the outside.
Of course, there are a few individuals who have complete control over their mind and capable of overriding their inherit personality, but this trait is incredibly rare – usually only existent in psychopaths and genius physiologists. The average personality is completely controlled by their internal biological makeup and upbringing.
Human behaviour can be analysed. That’s essentially what psychology is – the analysis of people. We all behave in a very similar manner to everyone else. Each individual has a unique personality, but each individual shares thought patterns and personality traits. Our consciousnesses are unique, but our behaviour is shared.
This is a field I’ve always found to be incredibly fascinating. Everybody is bare-naked and incredibly revealing. Everything can be analysed. There’s always a pattern.
